Supplier Leaders on Climate Transition (LOCT) Program

The Meat Institute has partnered with Supplier LOCT (Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition), an online climate school managed by global consultancy Guidehouse.  Supplier LOCT consists of expert instructors who lead participants in a series of workshops on greenhouse gas (GHG) tracking, science-based target setting, abatement, and disclosure.

For Meat Institute members starting from square one on their climate journey to those seeking guidance at Scope 3 and achieving targets, Supplier LOCT can help members at all stages.

What Members Will Experience in Supplier LOCT:

By joining Supplier LOCT, Meat Institute members learn about science-based targets and reducing emissions. As participants, members:

  • Participate in a pre-competitive space
  • Receive expert instruction through live guided seminars
  • Receive an education that aligns with global protocols, standards, and pledges
  • Access tools and resources
  • Complete required assignments
  • Receive individualized support and “office hours” access
  • Receive a certificate for completion
  • Receive badges to communicate climate progress as recognition and reward for designated climate progress achievements.

The Meat Institute is subsidizing this educational opportunity for general members to reduce enrollment costs for individual companies. This new benefit is part of the Meat Institute’s educational resources for general members as they participate in the continuous improvement program in the Protein PACT.
