Dr. Alexa Lamm is a Professor of Science Communication in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Communication and Education at the University of Georgia. She is considered a leader in the field of social science research as it relates to understanding how targeted communication and educational practice impacts the decision-making process and the ultimate adoption of new scientific technologies to advance agricultural production while maintaining a sustainable environment. Dr. Lamm has received over $52M in total contracts and grants, published over 220 peer-reviewed journal articles, received the Borlaug CAST Communication Award in 2020, and is a Fellow of both the American Association for Agricultural Education and the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education. Dr. Lamm is currently leading the communication efforts for the Real Pork Trust Consortium, a multi-year dynamic effort funded by the National Pork Board, designed to translate science to build trust between the pork industry and consumers.
