The NAMI International Affairs Committee (IAC) advocates for the reduction of tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade in meat and poultry products, supports government-led and industry-driven efforts to garner equal access for these products across all countries and markets, and advises NAMI members on trade policies that advance meat and poultry export and import trade.

The IAC is the premier resource for information on trade policies, practices, and structures relevant to the U.S. meat and poultry industry.  Through education and engagement with domestic and international stakeholders, the IAC identifies export opportunities to position the U.S. meat and poultry industry as the preeminent supplier of high-quality, safe, nutritious, and sustainable products to a global customer and consumer base.

During the IAC meeting, members will discuss the latest developments impacting U.S. meat and poultry trade, including efforts to address African Swine Fever, work to improve access to existing export markets, and opportunities to reduce tariff and non-tariff barriers in new markets, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Priorities for the year ahead will also be identified.

This meeting is open to all NAMI members, so please join if you have interest in these topic areas!
