Marie Culhane is a professor of veterinary population medicine and veterinarian at the College of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Minnesota. She works with all species, but has a special interest in diseases of food animals, especially swine. Her research involves characterization of influenza A viruses of swine, avians and humans and the possible impact these viruses may have on vaccination protocols. She is also involved in animal disease emergency planning at local, national, and global levels.
