Growing up on a cow/calf beef farm in Eastern Ontario – animal welfare runs deep within him.
Robert joined Cargill in the spring of 2007 as an Operations Management Associate after graduating at the University of Guelph with a BSc in Agriculture Honors. For the past 15 years, he has worked in various supervisory roles within the Guelph plant ultimately spending most of that time as an Operations Superintendent and a Quality Control Supervisor focused on food safety and animal welfare. As an Operations Superintendent, at the Cargill Guelph facility in Ontario, Canada he was responsible for the barn and slaughter team handling 1900 head daily of cattle humanely and ensuring that his employees were rendering cattle insensible each and every time. Robert has recently moved into a project role implementing an SAP program into the Live Cattle Procurement space within Cargill Protein North America.
