Description

Take a deeper dive into a more technical assessment of ergonomic risks, and a comprehensive process for identifying, understanding, and solving high risk jobs from a medical, safety and operations perspective.  Ergonomics in the protein industry is something that has successfully reduced work related musculoskeletal disorders almost 75% since the early 1990’s, but there is more to gain from having a deeper understanding of the human body and how current ergonomic principles can be better applied. Dr. Jack Parry, Alex Mateo, and Paul Dougherty of Industry Health Solutions will discuss the ergonomic struggles they have experienced in meat packing facilities and what they have learned is an effective approach to reducing the sometimes-unseen risks.  The presenters will take you through a strategic and technical approach unique to the protein industry addressing high risk ergonomic concerns using diagrams, rating instruments, and animation. Learn how to look at your near misses, processes, and people from a medical perspective and in a different way to advance the normal standards of ergonomics.
